Episode 1- Welcome to the Jungle!

‘Welcome to the jungle- we got fun and games’ – Guns and Roses

Today was the first time I went to the gym for the first time in absolute weeks!

The old adage of ‘Fail to prepare- prepare to fail’ is a real one! I went in with 0 plan and felt like I got 0 done! Due to this I found out several things….

I AM SO UNFIT!

According to livestrong.com to be considered ‘fit’ men aged 20-29 should be able to do 22-28 push ups per minute. I’ll be honest- I can barely do 5! Once I can be bothered to do a ‘Howfitareyouontheinside-atron machines that tell me my body fat etc- I will show you!

However, back to the gym-buck-tu… I figured (since I am inbetween jobs at the moment) that going at 12:30 in the afternoon was a good time to go to the gym… it was not! You could see the cloud of testosterone and the audible GRR and UMPH! which are commonplace in the gym. Needless to say there were mahoosive queues so I had to do what any other guy with no plan/programme etc had to do… I had to do the’Tour de Machine’!

The Tour de Machine- Like the Tour de France: But not in France, or on a bike. It is basically what I call going round the machines with no set idea/goal and just moving weights for the sake of it- it is better than nothing!

This then got me thinking on how important it is to make and carry out a plan (programme contributions are always welcome!) Also, a goal is needed to supplement this programme and see how far I’ll go…
